Formed in Timisoara, Romania, by Sasha-Liviu (self taught saz player and visual artist) & Alexandru Hegyesi, NU & APA NEAGRA sound project offers a mix between traditional tunes, improvised vocals and spacy electronics. It started in 2001, as NU, being at the time more of a folk/free form music project. The band toured Germany twice, in 2006, promoting their cd 'At Gardina', which, in the meantime, received some great revues. Played club gigs and, also, venues such as festivals. NU's music has been airplayed at radios like WFMU or Freies Radio Kassel, among others... After some changes and studio work (2007), NU 'reincarnated' as NU & APA NEAGRA and released OMAG album, at German indie label Lollipopshop...The tracks have been recorded both in Berlin, Germany and Timisoara, Romania.
